As reported over at my favorite Geek News site ars technica, Solar Impulse 2 began its 6 day five night stay in the sky as it flies from Nanjing, China to Hawaii. If its successful, it’ll not just be the first solar powered aircraft to make this journey but it’ll also be the longest successful solo flight by anyone ever.

Update: They landed in Japan due to inclement weather conditions, but still managed to set several records.
