First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who entered. There are certainly many reasons that you all mentione’d you’d love a QCX! Seven entries mentioned POTA, 22 mentioned SOTA, 2 mentioned quick lunch QSO’s, and one person even mentioned buying one as an Anniversary present for their wife!
I would encourage all of you to get your QCX and get on the air. They are wonderful little radios that are well worth the $49 + Shipping that QRP Labs sells them for. If you didn’t win (there can only be one winner, sorry!) then head on over to QRP Labs and grab yourself a QCX! You’ll be on the air in no time.
If you need the stuff to build a QCX such as a soldering iron, solder, and various accessories, check out the inexpensive picks over at the QRP Parts Catalog.
And now, what you all came for…
We Have a Winner!
We want to congratulate Jon, KE5URU! Jon’s entry indicated that he wants to use his QCX for Parks on The Air (POTA) on 20 meters. Looks like you’ll get your chance to give it a try, Jon. We hope you enjoy it! Go check your email, we’ve reached out to you so you can get your QCX prize.
I just want to sincerely thank everyone again for helping make this a success. I was very touched by many of the comments, especially those who wish to give their winnings to others or help kids get into ham radio. That’s what being a ham is all about, and you have my respect.
There’s a good chance we’re going to do another giveaway in the future, so stay tuned!
